ORIADE LCDA HOLDS YEAR 2022 BUDGET, PROCUREMENT RETREAT IN FESTAC COMMUN ITY


Oriade Local Development Area has conducted their 2022 budget retreat. The event which took place at De Santiago Milan Hotel & Suites, Festac Town, Lagos was organized to commence routine planning for 2022 fiscal year, while stepping up pragmatic strategies towards improving revenue generation drive for the council.

The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Hon. Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan has described the council’s Year 2022 Budget as Budget of Development.

While further explaining that the Budget is geared towards achieving more significant developmental continuity in the LCDA as implemented in the previous year, the Chairman stressed that all hands must be on deck to achieve this.

The Chairman revealed that over the years, her administration has continued to record greater strides in the area of infrastructural development, Empowerment, Health and Environment, Youth engagement, Education amidst others. While imploring the participants to be more committed towards taking decisive steps in improving the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and economic fortunes of the LCDA.

Akinlola-Hassan said: "With the help of Almighty God and your unwavering determination to implement core policies as displayed few months into this new dispensation, we have successfully lifted Oriade to an enviable status amongst its peers across the country. This is evident with recent Awards (Cleanest Local Government and Second Runner-up Cleanest Primary Health Care Center in Lagos State (Sub-urban) won by the Council, which was organized by the Lagos state Ministry of Environment and Water Resources. This is highly remarkable. Thank you so much for the support!"
She then charged revenue officials to be more active, productive, as well as maximize the council income. Saying that several viable projects will be done to ensure maximum delivery of dividends of democracy as the administration continues.

Similarly, the Council Head of Budget Department, Mr Tayo Ogunmade said that, the budget retreat gives room for better preparation and analysis of this year budget to ensure effective maximization of Government budget. “The department aim is to achieve the very best as the development of the LCDA continues” He said.

Earlier on, the Procurement retreat facilitator, Mr Aderogbeshin commended the Executive Chairman and the Management team of Oriade LCDA for taking another lead amongst its peers, in what was described as early planning and efficient developmental strategies adopted.


In the same vein, the budget facilitator, Dr Olushoga Badejo admonished the revenue officials to be diligent explaining that their generated revenue is the brain behind public economic sustainability.
Budget estimates were highlighted and debated upon, comparisons were also made in terms of revenue generation and fresh targets were set based on performance and expectations.

The Vice Chairman, Hon Moshood Badmus; the Council Manager, Mr. Semiu Akintoye; External facilitators; the Council treasurer, Mr Olushola Gbesan; Revenue Chairman; HOD Budget, Mr Tayo Ogunmade; HOD Procurement, Mrs Edunjobi Christiana and other Head of departments, Nulge Chairman amidst others were present at the retreat.
