SCHOOL STUDENT DIES DURING INTER-HOUSE SPORTS COMPETITION IN BWARI COMMUNITY

A 16-year-old Senior Secodary School 3 student, Michael Paul Ogbe, of ASACS International Staff College, Bwari, Abuja, reportedly died at the school’s Inter-House Sports after sustaining a head injury in one of the events.

The mother, Marian Nnanna Ogbe, who is traumatized is requesting for a probe of the incident.

Michael, according to reports lost his father when he was only 4 years old, and the woman has been the one caring for his upkeep ever since.

He was said to be the best science student of the school and would have survived if he was immediately taken to the hospital according to reports.

The mother lamented allowing his son to go to school that morning.

“We had to force him to go on Tuesday.

“Michael was a comput­er wiz-kid. He wanted to work as a computer security expert in government or a tele­communications company, she said.

She displaying a form she obtained from a school in Cana­da where he was billed to re­sume in September 2017.

“I miss him so much, I can’t give birth again, I don’t even have a husband, I don’t know where to start from. Life has no meaning any­more; I worked so hard for Michael.

LAGOS GOVERNOR APPROVES NGN1.5B PENSION MONEY FOR LG RETIREES

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the release of N1.5billion intervention fund for the payment of outstanding gratuities and pension arrears of local government retirees in the state. "PRISON OFFICERS EXTORT MONEY FROM US AT THE TRAINING SCHOOL" - TRAINEES

About 408 personnel of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Prisons, drawn from commands across the country, are participating in a three-month course on development at the institution, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered. The programme is due to be concluded on November 15, it was gathered. Participants, however, alleged that the school had forced each of them to pay N37000 for ceremonial dress, belts and caps, items they claimed to posses.
