WHO STOLE THE TRANSFORMER AT SHOKUMBI STREET JUNCTION?

By U.D.Okechukwu

“We have stayed without light for over 8 months because of this issue anytime the transformer fails (explodes)(blow). Presently, If it is about the light, we have it but it is just that the load on this transformer sitting at the junction of Otun street is massive. It causes the light to trip off almost every time. Ajanlekoko, Otun, Fakande, Tariah, part of Karimu, Imam Busari, Shokumbi and one lane on Shokumbi street are all connected to this small transformer.” An aggrieved resident spoke to Kirikiri News Media.

When power transformers are damaged beyond repair, installation of new ones are done. It is obvious that the transformer at the Shokumbi street junction directly opposite Agunbiade street is no longer sitting there. The space is empty. Where is that transformer?

Community Accountability is keen to community development!

This transformer served Shokumbi and it’s lane, Part of Karimu and Ajanlekoko streets respectively until it’s mystic disappearance. The former transformer was definitely removed from its position. By Who? And the new transformer isn’t sitting right there?

In June 2021, two transformers were apportioned by the Amuwo-Odofin LGA to replace the faulty transformers in Kirikiri town community. One was installed in Comfort Oboh area while the other one was scheduled to be installed at Shokumbi street Junction but it went missing leaving a huge power gap.

Who stole the transformer?
Who is in possession of the communities transformer?
Who knows the whereabout of this transformer?

It is quite useful to know that a 500KVA 33.015KV COST 5MILLION NAIRA ONLY AS AT 2021. And a used one can be sold for about 4MILLION Naira.

Investigations are ongoing. More details later. Stay tuned! Thank you for reading. Kindly share also.
