2 YOUTH LEADERS IN ISIALA-MBANO COMMUNITY GUNNED DOWN

The two community youth leaders in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State who were shot dead by fleeing gunmen operating in a jeep at Eke Obollo.

The killings, Ifeanyicy.com learnt, occurred Monday, when four gunmen, who 
were in a Jeep, shot and killed Uzoma popularly known as Van Dan, and another youth leader, identified simply as Chinedu, who goes by the name Master, at about 8. 15 pm.


The said the youths were shot dead at the Okeosisi Bar, a popular beer joint in the community.


According to Punch News, the gunmen, on arriving at the scene, was said to have shot 
continuously into the air to scare away residents before aiming at their targets and leave them dead in the pool of blood.

He said, “On arrival, the gunmen shot into the air, apparently to scare people away. They then went straight to where Ebo, one of the youth leaders of the community was drinking, and shot him repeatedly on the hands and abdomen until he died.


“They equally shot another youth leader, Chinedu, on his chest. On confirming their deaths , the assailants drove off in their Jeep immediately.”


The source said the killings caused confusion in the community, adding that nobody knew the reason for the attack on the two youth leaders.

The corpse of deceased have being deposited in the mortuary.

It could be recalled that the youths from the community headed by the deceased Youth leaders, in no distant time, apprehended armed robbers in their village and burnt them through mob action. There are feelers, the armed gang resorted to a revenge.
