MILE12 MARKET: "RELOCATION OR NOT?" - LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

After a deadly ethnic clash that left many dead in the area few days ago at the Mile 12 area of Lagos State, the Lagos State House of Assembly has called for the relocation of the Mile 12 Market. The conflict which resulted in the destruction of properties was estimated millions of NGN.                                          The bridge at Mile 12 market
The Members however, called on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to find another location for the market.

"We condole with the families who lost their lives but for how long will we continue. What we have discovered is shocking as some of the solider had been accused of taking sides in the clash between Yoruba and Hausa youths. Soldiers have been stationed at the market since 1999, yet they have not been able to solve the problem.

There is a police station there, what did the DPO do, when the incident occurred?
The market has little or no structure hence, we can move the market to another place as we look at a new plan; we cannot have such a market at the center of a mega city disrupting other peoples businesses" Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency I spoke.
POLL: SHOULD THE MILE 12 MARKET BE RELOCATED?
