ROTARACT DISTRICT 9110 NIGERIA - Service through Passion, Sustainability through training.
Exactly 48 years ago (13 March 1968) Rotaract was established by Rotary International as a programme for youth between age bracket 18-30.
The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

Our different occupations, cultures, tribe and countries give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable.

OUR DISTRICT: Let me state here for the benefit of our friends reading this message that Rotaract District 9110, Nigeria comprise of Lagos and Ogun states and in this District we have 50 Rotaract clubs and 7 Provisional clubs waiting to be charter, if you can't find one in your community please contact us.

ROTARY DISTRICT: Its important to note and acknowledge the leadership of Rotary District 9110 led by my energetic World Class District Governor, Bola Onabadejo for their guidance, mentorship and supervisory roles played so far through Youth Service Chair. (DGND Kola Sodipo), the District Rotaract Committee Chair (Rotn. PP. PDR Benedict Okhumale) and ROTARIANS for embracing Rotaractors and Rotaract Clubs
One of the core objective of our District Governor has been to increase the number of clubs in the District and I am happy to report today that we have chartered six (6) new clubs and we are in the process of chartering more clubs before the end of the Rotary year. 

THE DISTRICT ROTARACT REPRESENTATIVE: As the DRR, I am saddled with the responsibility of administering all clubs in the District. l must confess the journey has not been easy but with the undiluted support from my District Board of Directors, we have been able to encourage clubs in making sure they work in line with the 6 areas of FOCUS like encouraging clubs through Basic Education Exercise book in order to carried out project in there communities, this enable them to see the impact of the District and encourage them not to deviate from the 5 Avenues of service. 

Its also pertinent to note that the Rotaract District is working seriously in promoting World Peace and Understanding. This made members of this District to travel to seven (7) different countries within African and implementing life imparting projects in those countries.

ROTARACT DISTRICT CONFERENCE: The Rotaract District 9110 Conference 2016 Tagged: "AKILE IJEBU AGAIN" with the Theme: "SWITCH IT ON; Your Passion a gift to the world" will be held in Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium Ijebu Ode on the 7th - 10th of April, under the Focus:

“48th Years of Rotaract Existence in the world and Rotaract District 9110 Nigeria 32nd Years of Growth, Innovation, Fellowship, Togetherness and Service - G.I.F.T.S”

GROWTH: greater freedom and access to pursuing the best interests of Rotaract and Rotary International and seeking to understand ourselves better, developing our personal capacities, aspirations and experience.
INNOVATION: translating our ideas into a great service that creates value for our members, guests and by extension of the Community.

FELLOWSHIP: we believe that with the possibilities for fellowship, building friendship and networking we are enhancing lives, allowing for life changing experiences, and marking each and every member in ways that they will never forget.

TOGETHERNESS: to highlight the highest intensity and importance of our combined commitments, efforts and team work which transcends beyond the invisible lines of our language and water barriers.
SERVICE: Service above self, the ultimate Rotaract lifestyle.

Goals & Objectives
• To advance the program of Rotary International – Rotaract
• To encourage transitions from Rotaract to Rotary
• To showcase successful programs and projects of Rotaract and district and club activities.
• To Conduct a Community Service Project in Host Community
• To achieve representation from every club in the district

NIGEROTA: Rotaract multi district information organizations (MDIOs) function as regional resource centers for Rotaractors. They comprise Rotaract clubs in two or more districts, within a country or across several countries. MDIOs are formed to disseminate information and facilitate communication among Rotaract clubs in the participating districts. Rotaract District 9110, Nigeria is the Host for NIGEROTA 2016 Tagged: EKO AKETE 19th - 21st MAY, 2016 Proposed Conference Venue still Remain Nigeria Popular Boundary Community BADAGRY. 

I am humble, grateful and delighted to wish dynamic Rotaractors in our District and across the world Happy Anniversary, Rotaract is beyond our local communities. Indeed, Rotaract is International.

STOLEN TRANSFORMER: “NO TRANSFORMER FOR KIRIKIRI TOWN IN EKEDC OFFICE”

An official of EKEDC has said that there is not transformer apportioned to KIRIKIRI town by the Local Council in their custody at their office. The official in a conversation with KIRIKIRI News media said that the office is not aware that the transformer sitting at Shokumbi street is no longer there. In a concerned bid to arrest the situation, The official directed the community to question the Local council authorities concerning the Transformers which was given to the community and who they were handed over to inside the community. This missing transformer has kept some families in darkness as the load which causes trip off is too heavy for the transformer sitting at Otun Street Junction. More details later….. WOMAN POURS COLA INTO ATM MACHINE IN CHINA

By Song Jingyu     A Chinese woman has been arrested for vandalism, after being persuaded by telecom fraudsters to pour cola into two ATM machines in a bid to retrieve money that had been stolen from her.   Zhang Ling (pseudonym), 33, played both victim and suspect in the absurd case in southwest China’s Chongqing municipality, according to a report by Chongqing Evening News.   The duped woman received a phone call from the scammer in November, claiming she had a 1,300 yuan phone bill. She was persuaded to call a designated "police station" number, and transferred 5,300 yuan (768 US dollars) to a bank account. As she grew suspicious, the woman called the fraudster up the next day, asking for her money back. The swindler told her to dump cola into an ATM. With the ATM’s invoice, the fraudster said a police officer could help her retrieve her money.   Amazingly, Zhang followed the instructions, buying a cola and emptying it into the machine. HAVE YOU HEARD OF PROGRESSIVE JETTY IN KIRIKIRI TOWN?

By U. D. Okechukwu Progressive Jetty is the entry point for tourists, workers, transporters, goods and residents into the Kirikiri town community through the sea. This is the only area left for the people of Kirikiri town to have access to the sea and other parts of Lagos state after the tank farm owners, ship butchers and bonded terminals took over the communities shore line. The river used to be a place of solace that accommodates lots of activities back then in the 50’s to 80’s and finally in the 90’s and early 2000’s. From the progressive jetty, one can take a boat to other neighboring communities such as Aloro Community etc Also boats can take you to other areas in Lagos state such as Snake island, Coconut, Badagry, Takwabay, Ibeche, Lagos Island and Victoria Island. WUSE COMMUNITY - EFCC ZONAL OFFICE BURNS, POLICE BEGINS INVESTIGATION

Officials of the Federal Fire Service, FFS, Wuse Zonal office, Monday, successfully subdued inferno that almost razed down the Wuse 2 Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The fire fighters led by the Sector Commander, Melone Onyekachi, arrived the Wuse 2 office of the Commission when the Service was alerted of the fire by the Incident Duty Officer of the Commission, Kayode Oyetunde, at 1910 hours. The fire started at the former newsroom which now serves as storage for ICT equipments that were retrieved from the commission’s former offices scattered across the capital city. The former newsroom is domiciled in the two-storey Costa Hall which was commissioned by Antonio Costa on November 13, 2007. The building currently houses the Data Centre and the Combined Inter Agency Task Force.
