I wish to thank all those who came to my parents final burial ceremony, and thanks to those who helped with the service either with their personal time, brought food, flowers or helped monetarily. It was appreciated greatly from the bottom of my heart.

Everyone who came and introduced themselves to me, and to those who didn't, I really appreciated your presence at my ceremony on April 22.

I have to say, April 22 was the hardest day of my life, and all of your thoughtfulness made it easier to get through the day.

A word of thanks can hardly say how much your kindness meant to me. But as my mom would say, "Tank you tank you tank you!"

My parents will be missed dearly and forever by all those who cared for them, especially myself, her extended family.

KIDNAPPERS USED FACEBOOK TO LURE A MAN TO HIS DEATH IN IGBOKODA COMMUNITY

Samuel Awoyinfa The Ogun State Police Command has smashed a six-man kidnapping gang which allegedly lured a man, Femi Olatunji, from his home in the Isheri area of Ogun State to Igbokoda, Ondo State, where they killed him after collecting a ransom. The suspects’ names were given as Fadeni Henry, Lebile Olatunji, Ehuwa Oririe, Olotu Tosin, Oluwole Ohunayo, and Peter Omogbemi. The leader of the gang, 23-year-old Henry, had reportedly struck a relationship with the victim on the social media, and allegedly lured him to Igbokoda, the gang’s base, on Friday, May 12, 2017. The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the wife of the victim had reported the kidnap of her husband to the police. He said the command’s detectives, men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad were directed to rescue the victim. Iliyasu said it was later discovered that Henry and other members of his gang had lured the victim,

3 ALSATIAN DOGS ATTACK AND KILL CHILD IN IKORODU COMMUNITY

Five-year-old Aliyah Masaku, who was attacked by three dogs in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, has died. Aliyah died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, on Wednesday after she was transferred from the Ikorodu General Hospital, where she was first admitted.

By Omah Diegu A preacher from Inyi Nigeria, Bishop Harford Anayo Iloputaife was born on the 12th of February 1959 in Lagos Nigeria. He was the sixth child of Capt. H. A. Iloputaife, MBE, NAEC, who was the grandson of Maduekesi (Madu) King of Inyi at the time the British invaded that land in the 19th Century. On his maternal side his grandfather John Anyaji a fervent preacher and renown healer was first to introduce Christianity to the people of Inyi from Ogidi where he had gone to apprentice as a lumberjack (sawyer).

NAVAL OFFICERS AND TRUCK DRIVERS CLASH IN KIRIKIRI TOWN COMMUNITY

By Dickson Okafor Commercial activities within Kirikiri Town and its environs in Lagos were brought to a standstill recently, as truck drivers in the area clashed with some naval personnel stationed at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Kirikiri. It was gathered that the military men brutalised some members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Kirikiri chapter, following disagreements over toll collection from truck owners and drivers. The naval men, the truck owners and drivers alleged, were extorting money from the truck drivers before granting them access into the terminal of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in Kirikiri to load or offload containers. The reporter gathered that members of the RTEAN task force in Kirikiri trying to prevent petrol tanker drivers from facing oncoming traffic, thereby adding to the traffic congestion in the area, were resisted by the military men. DANGOMA COMMUNITY AND TAKAU COMMUNITY SIGNS PEACE AGREEMENT

Two communities in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday signed a peace agreement as part of efforts to bring an end to the wanton destruction of lives and property in the area. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the communities involved are Dangoma and Takau in Kannikon and Zipak chiefdoms respectively. Speaking at the event held in Kafanchan, Peter Averik, chairman of the local government, said the peace deal was brokered following series of dialogue between the two communities. “We met and deliberated successfully on the way forward and, thankfully, the two communities resolved to sheath their swords and give peace a chance. “This is a milestone for us and we want to use this opportunity to let the world know that we want peace and we are for peace,” he added.
