OIL RICH COMMUNITY GBARAMATU KINGDOM RECEIVES VICE PRESIDENT YEMI OSIBANJO

Osinbajo was accompanied by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu and was received in Delta State by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

He then flew to Gbaramatu kingdom for a talk with the leaders of the oil bearing coastal communities.

The Vice President is looking to engage in talks on how to address issues affecting the region and bring an end to militants’ attacks on Nigeria’s oil and gas facilities.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to also visit a number of oil communities across some Niger Delta states.

According to a statement from the Office of the Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo would also be visiting Bayelsa and Rivers States at a later date to be announced.

Spokesperson for the Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande, described the move as further demonstration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s readiness and determination to comprehensively address the Niger Delta situation.

16 YEAR OLD BOY FOUND DEAD IN A POOL AT FESTAC TOWN COMMUNITY

By Victor Gbonegun A cloud of confusion still trails the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of a sixteen-year-old boy, Ezekiel Chukwu in FESTAC town, Lagos State, as police authorities are yet to unearth the cause of his death. Chukwu had disappeared mysteriously on the evening of Sunday, July 7, from 41 Road FESTAC, close to the local government secretariat. According to The Guardian’s investigation, Chukwu, a Catholic altar server in one of the popular church at 41 Road, had attended the first and second services in the morning and returned home. He left home later in the evening to return for a special programme at the church but his lifeless body with blood dripping from his mouth and nose was found beside a pool in a club along 21 Road, FESTAC town, the next day, July 8. Fredie Blom's identity documents showed he was born in Eastern Cape province in May 1904, although that was never verified by Guinness World Records. When he was a teenager, his entire family was wiped out by the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. He went on to survive two world wars and apartheid.
