MAN IN PARKERVILLE COMMUNITY ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE ASSAULTS

A 37-year-old Parkerville man allegedly punched a woman several times, pushing and kicking her to the ground outside her Parkerville home.

Another woman tried to help but the man allegedly hit her on the head with a rock, then chased and threatened a 12-year-old son of one of the victims.

The two women and the boy fled inside the house and both women later required hospital treatment for multiple cuts.

Police called to the area about 4.45pm on Monday and arrested the man without incident as he was driving off in one of the women’s cars outside the Byfield Road property.

He was taken to Midland St John of God Hospital, where he was treated for a head injury received during the altercations.

The man was refused bail and will appear in Midland Magistrates Court today on charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing a motor vehicle, trespass and threats to injure and harm.
