TANKER EXPLOSION - ONE DEAD, SHOPS AND VEHICLES BURNT IN KIRIKIRI TOWN COMMUNITY, LAGOS


At least five trucks and several commercial motorcycles which were caught in the fire were destroyed and property worth millions of Naira destroyed.

One person was burnt to death while several shops and vehicles destroyed, when a fallen petrol tanker exploded and went up flames at the Kirikiri town area of Lagos.


Several shops on the side of a container terminal at the entrance to Kirikiri town were destroyed while two of the burnt trucks were said to fully loaded with imported bicycle tyres.

Witnesses told Global Community Reporters that fire started when the tanker tumbled on the bad road at the Kirikiri area, spilling its product and igniting fire in the area.
