MILE 2 ESTATE RESIDENTS APPLAUD CONSTITUENCY LEADER FOR SANITIZING 8 YEARS ABANDONED AREA

The member representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Dipo has taken his Keep Amuwo Clean (KAC) campaign into mile 2 estate, by clearing blocked drainages, clearning over grown grasses and removing huge waste dumps from areas within the estate.

Hon Dipo and his team personally monitored the cleanup exercise and pleaded with the community to keep the environment clean by partaking in the weekly and monthly sanitation exercise and sustaining the KAC campaign by disposing refuse in proper waste bins provided by the government just as he advised residents to stop patronizing local cart pushers because they dispose ways in the gutters.

You would recall Hon Dipo responded to complaints from residents who contacted him via his Facebook page some weeks ago. He went on to assure the residents after visiting the area that he would return to personally clear the area which he now has done.

Hon Dipo also promised to raise the issue of blocked drainages and other pressing matters on the floor of the House of Assembly when it resumes sitting.

14 BED CLINIC BUILT IN YAHAYA KWANDE COMMUNITY

By Gyang Bere, Jos A former member of the House of Representatives in the Eighth National Assembly, Dr. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, recently constructed and furnished a 14-bed clinic for residents of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. It was learnt that the clinic, located in the centre of Jos, would serve the health needs of the less privileged in society. The Yahaya Kwande Community Clinic has female and male wards, children and delivery units and a consulting room for doctors and nurses where emergency cases would be attended to. Dr. Suleiman commenced the construction of the clinic as part of his constituency projects during the Eighth Assembly but couldn’t finish it before he left the House of Representatives in 2019. He completed, furnished and handed over the facility to the community on Monday, August 24. In Uganda, according to the custom of the Banyankole community tribe, the aunt of the bride must have sex with the groom as a "potency test", and furthermore, has to test the bride's virginity, when the couple wants to get married. Some traditions assert that the husband would first have sex with the aunt before proceeding to have it with the bride. "NIGERIANS WITHOUT PREPAID METERS SHOULD STOP PAYING ELECTRICITY BILLS" - FG

By Jerrywright Ukwu Electricity consumers ​not provided with prepaid meters ​as at​ March 1 2017 have been told to stop paying electricity bills -  This is the directive from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) The Distribution Companies (DISCOs) have however fired back saying the rule is not applicable to all Nigerians The NERC has ​declared that electricity consumers ​that were ​not provided with prepaid meters ​as at​ March 1 should stop paying electricity bills presented by DISCOs on the basis of estimated billing methodology. The commission also ordered the DISCOs not to disconnect any such customer that refuses to pay the bills and further advised such customers to report to the commission if disconnected.
