48 YEAR-OLD-MAN JAILED FOR RAPING HIS 3 DAUGHTERS

For allegedly raping his three daughters, a 48-year-old man, Micheal Ogbar, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ikeja chief magistrates’ court.

Tajudeen Elias, the chief magistrate, refused to hear his plea and remanded him in Kirikiri prisons.

Elias said the court had no jurisdiction over the case and, therefore, transferred the matter to Apapa magistrates’ court.

The accused is facing a two-count charge of defilement and rape.

Rafael Donny, the prosecutor, told the court that the offenses were committed between January and May at the accused residence.

“The accused sexually abused his 24, 20 and 10 year-old daughters,” he said.

The offenses contravened sections 137 and 259 of the criminal law of Lagos state, 2011

14 BED CLINIC BUILT IN YAHAYA KWANDE COMMUNITY

By Gyang Bere, Jos A former member of the House of Representatives in the Eighth National Assembly, Dr. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, recently constructed and furnished a 14-bed clinic for residents of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. It was learnt that the clinic, located in the centre of Jos, would serve the health needs of the less privileged in society. The Yahaya Kwande Community Clinic has female and male wards, children and delivery units and a consulting room for doctors and nurses where emergency cases would be attended to. Dr. Suleiman commenced the construction of the clinic as part of his constituency projects during the Eighth Assembly but couldn’t finish it before he left the House of Representatives in 2019. He completed, furnished and handed over the facility to the community on Monday, August 24.
