Several community leaders and residents has used the social media to ask the present government the way forward where masses lament daily due to unavailability of simple basic amenities such as electricity, water supply and the most crippling of all scarcity of premium motor spirit PMS popularly known as fuel.
According to Global Community Reporters survey, fuel, has superseded all other commodities in Nigeria as top priority. fuel is needed in everything a Nigerian must do daily and without it, you are just not Nigerian considering all odds.
Speaking to a community leader in Ikeja, he said that the government actually knows what they are doing.
"When you listen to the radio and read the dailies, you hear the DG NNPC making promises, at the end of the day, fuel prices increases. you hear all heads of private and government owned oil firms saying something will be done soon but yet, we still buy fuel for NGN 300 PER LITER" the leader concluded.
Another leader in Kirikiri town said that he is tired of all these hanky-panky game of throne between government and oil importers and refinery.
"SOT filling station which is the only one here in Kirikiri town has shut down operations for almost two weeks. where do we buy fuel? we have to put all our weight on the black market dealers who give us at the rate of NGN 350 per liter. They should just stop all these their hanky-panky game of throne between government and oil importers and refinery. These days in Kirikiri town, no light, no fuel, no water and the weather is too hot. I am tired of all the suffering" he uttered.
Other communities however, has turned lamenting into a daily activity. Transportation fare has escalated, all food prices too. Many residents say that even if we know that there is no light, which we are used to, in fact where we were born into - making fuel scarce will only make their generators useless in the unfriendly weather, the president Muhammadu Buhari and his Ministers should just make things right.
