FULL STORY WITH PICTURES: FIRE DESTROYS BUILDING AND SHOPS IN KIRIKIRI TOWN

 Fire destroyed one building and series of shops at No 1 Karimu Street, Kirikiri town, Lagos on Friday 15th. Occupants of the building lost everything they had so as shop owners. There was no casualty. Kirikiri News Media reports.

Although the Lagos State Fire Service were called times without number, they were not present at the scene. It was the combined effort of Techno Oil, Fatgbems, Swift Oil and Bovas Oil fire service that ensured the raging fire was quenched. However, before their arrival, brave and agile chaps of Kirikiri town fought the fire with all their strength.

The Landlord of the house, Ogunjobi popularly known as Baba Oja who is the elder brother to the CDA2 Youth President, Kazeem Ogunjobi was devastated at the sight of the ruins of his family's more than half a decade building.
"I dont know what to say or think. I am confused. I just cannot believe it" Baba Oja said.
Tenants were seen running to and fro with hands on their head while some stood akimbo at the sight of the fire. there were not able to save any property of theirs. 

Over 60 people have been rendered homeless while about 14 people's means of livelihood cut short as a result of the fire. However, ongoing investigations shows that the estimate of the damage was over NGN 3,000,000. The fire claimed 14 rooms and 13 shops in its rage.

The cause of the fire has not been determined but residents are warned not to store explosives or flammable items such as chemicals, petroleum product of any kind and gas.
