EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT OF THE AGUNBIADE/ EGUNNU BOYS AND NAVY FIGHT

There was a brawl days ago when the Agunbiade /Egunnu boys attacked a man pushing a truck filled with planks asking for 'owo nile' - money for land or money for ground -  the man however, begged them saying he was cashless but was seriously beaten black and blue.

An eye witness who spoke to press men gave his account of what happened saying that it was the police that begged, if not, the Egunnu house would have been torn down to rubbles by the Navy.
"An Hausa guy was pushing his truck that contains planks and this Agunbiade boys attacked him asking him to pay owo nile .The guy said that he didn't have money with him and that the plank he carried wasn't his. Before he could say any other thing, one of the boys just gave him a heavy blow and his face swell up immediately. The man ran to his navy friend at Navy town. They came and arrested one of the boys. they were three navy personnels'. Two of them took the arrested boy to Navy town and one of them stood at Cardoso junction. To my greatest surprise, the Agunbiade boys attacked the navy guy. He ran away.

The Navy guys taking the other guy to the barracks got the signal that they are fighting their colleague. Then they came out with full force. They almost brought down the Egunnu house but for the intervention of the Kirikiri policemen who pleaded." Solomon explained to Kirikiri News Media.

Reports have it that 'owo nile' or 'omo nile' is illegal according to laws passed by the Lagos State House of Representatives last year. Even, newly built houses are not to pay any 'owo nile' money to anyone. This law is effective.

However, we will bring more details of this story as they unfold
