MEN OF BODI TRIBE COMPETE FOR POT BELLY EVERY YEAR

Along the lower Omo valley river in Southern Ethiopia, resides the Bodi tribes. 
The Bodi people are neighbours to the Mursi tribe. 

The Bodi people are agriculturalists who still engage in trade by barter system.
In an unusual ritual, the men from the Bodi tribe compete to become the fattest during the new year or ka'el ceremony.

They spend six months guzzling a mixture of cow blood and milk in a bid to fatten up as fast as they can.
The winning fat man doesn't get a price but is feted as a hero for life by the rest of the tribe.

A visit to Federal Housing Estate in Lugbe shows that there are only three banks namely Skye, Fidelity and Wema Banks that services the whole of the Lugbe environs until Shoprite Nigeria opened its Novare Gateway mall in Lugbe, housing just two ATM points from Zenith Bank. 7 STUDENTS AND ONE TEACHER KIDNAPPED IN DAMBO-KASAYA COMMUNITY

By Ibrahim Mohammed Armed men on Monday attacked a school in Kaduna, killing one person and kidnapping seven students and a teacher, residents said. The armed men killed a man and abducted seven students and a teacher of Prince Academy, located at Damba-Kasaya village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident happened around 8 a.m. on Monday when the gunmen stormed the rural community while the students were preparing for their Junior secondary school examination‎. It gathered that the abducted students are JSS3 students who were among the exit students asked to resume by the federal and state government. ABULEADO, a sleepy community in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State has been hit by uneasy calm since the disappearance of a two-year-old girl, Chinaza Agwa from her parents’ bedside on March 6. DRUG TRAFFICKING: SUSPECT NABBED WITH 106 PARCELS OF HEMP & 4 PASSPORTS

A suspected cannabis trafficker, Mr. Sylvester Gbenga has been arrested by the Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS. Gbenga was arrested at Gbaji Customs checkpoint along Lagos-Badagry expressway on Wednesday and handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, yesterday. In a statement by the Customs Public Relations Officer, PRO of the Command, Taupyen Selchang, the suspect was arrested with about 106 parcels of hemp. The statement said, “The arrest of the suspect was possible through intelligence gathering by the seizing officers, led by A/C Abubakar Hamza, who trailed the suspect from neighboring Benin Republic.
