150,000 PALM OIL SEEDLINGS PLANTED IN OHAMBELE UKWA EAST, ABIA STATE

Abia State Government has flagged off the planting of over one hundred and fifty thousand oil palm seedlings as part of its red oil palm Revolution in Ohambele in Ukwa East LGA.
The Commisoner for Agriculture, Chief Uzo Azubuike, said that Abia State Government embarked on the project to ensure sustainable economic growth and development of the state, and stressed that governor Okezie lkpeazu led administration is leaving no stone unturned in making Abia State a major palm oil producing states in Nigeria.

Chief Uzo Azubuike disclosed that the ministry of Agriculture has procured D6 bulldozer and other Agro farm Machines for complete mechanised agriculture and to make farming less cumbersome and attractive.

Barr. Uzor Azubike called on all stakeholders to return to farming as a sure pathway to food security, wealth creation and job opportunities for our youths.

He also noted that the present administration through the ministry is developing massive cassava stem, multiplication of Pro vitamin A variety and 419 variety of cassava for distribution to Abia farmers in the next cropping season.
