ELECTRIC POLE COLLAPSES ON BUILDING ON AKERE STREET- EKDCN OFFICIALS REPAIR DAMAGE UNDER 2 DAYS

Officials of EKDCN has responded to review the extent of the damage.

The real estate agent company G.NEBO & SONS LTD where the pole fell on, incurred some damage. The wife of the MD, said that it was the prayers that they prayed later night that held the pole from falling to the ground when rain was falling and when there was power."Na prayers hold the pole. I thank God for his wonders" she shouted immediately she alighted from the bike.

The woman who runs a restaurant beside the affected area said that she ran away from her shop immediately she had the noise.

"When I heard the noise, I ran away. It was raining and there was light. Some of the wires are on top of my shop as I speak. I thank God "

"I was eating inside the shop when the owner ran away with speed and asked me to run. I thought she was crazy and i continued eating my food not until i heard the spark on the roof. I picked up my food and my drink and ran outside" a male customer spoke to Kirikiri News Media.

The wooden pole has been changed. The electric wires fixed onto a proper concrete pole. Residents expressed their joy at the response of the Electricity company.

LAGOS GOVERNOR APPROVES NGN1.5B PENSION MONEY FOR LG RETIREES

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the release of N1.5billion intervention fund for the payment of outstanding gratuities and pension arrears of local government retirees in the state. Mr. Akintola Benson Oke, the State Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Pension, who disclosed this today at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa Ikeja during the 2016 Ministerial Press Briefing of the Lagos... State Government to commemorate the first year anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration in Lagos State, added that the government has also approved the sum of N1.7billion being the balance of 142% pension arrears to the same categories of retirees.

"PRISON OFFICERS EXTORT MONEY FROM US AT THE TRAINING SCHOOL" - TRAINEES

By Stella Iyaji, Joshua Odeyemi (Abuja) & Eugene Agha Officers of the Nigeria Prison Service undergoing a training programme at its institution in Kirikiri Town, Lagos, have accused officials of the school of extortion in the guise of providing them with uniforms. About 408 personnel of the rank of Chief Superintendent of Prisons, drawn from commands across the country, are participating in a three-month course on development at the institution, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered. The programme is due to be concluded on November 15, it was gathered. Participants, however, alleged that the school had forced each of them to pay N37000 for ceremonial dress, belts and caps, items they claimed to posses.
